Kempten-Museum in the Zumsteinhaus

The walls are on fire at the Showroom Erasmuskapelle

Showroom Erasmuskapelle

Mysterious, unique and underground – that’s the Showroom Erasmuskapelle. Once you’ve managed the 23 steps from St. Mang-Platz down to the former chapel without any difficulty, a rather impressive multimedia show will tell you all about the interesting life of the present showroom. Apart from the burning walls, there’s so much more to discover in the Erasmuskapelle: old skeletons and unique findings from excavations – this is not your typical boring visit to a museum!

TOP EVENTS FOR KIDS

Let the show begin

Look forward to captivating event highlights in Kempten the whole year round. Every two years in August, the old Roman town brings to life the Cambodunum Archaeological Park and invites young and old Roman fans to Kempten to celebrate the 'Römerfest' over a whole weekend. Make sure you note this date down for a family visit to Kempten. It’s Showtime – and this means theatre performances for all visitors from four to 99 at the theatre in Kempten (T:K). A wide range of drama and theatre combined with play, fun and amazement, put together and performed by the Young T:K.
Inspiring music, professional musical actors and elaborate costumes will enchant visitors to the 'Märchensommer Allgäu'. In July and August each year the Open Air Theatre at the Burghalde (in case of bad weather, in the theatre of Kempten) a fairytale is performed interactively, aimed especially at younger guests. The scent of children’s punch tickling your nose, the colourful figures of the Christmas roundabout and the gentle ringing of the bells of the Christmas train take you straight to the Christmas market at the Rathausplatz in Kempten during your festive family holiday.
