Cambodunum Archaeological Park

Romans, Romans and more Romans – well not so many these days, perhaps not a whole great bunch of them, but in any case lots of fun and even more exciting events are waiting for the whole family in the Cambodunum Archaeological Park in Kempten. Let yourself be drawn into the town’s exciting history and discover the ancient 'Tempelbezirk', the 'Kleine Thermen', and a very special Roman playground that will make children’s eyes light up.

Kempten-Museum in the Zumsteinhaus

Right in the ‘living room’ of the town, as the Kempten Museum in the Zumsteinhaus – newly opened in 2019 – is affectionately known, the town’s 2000-year history is recounted anew for both young and old. Together with the Zumstein mice, all young visitors in particular will experience an fun-filled, active adventure at the museum and learn about Kempten’s history in a playful way.

Note: The Kempten-Museum in the Zumsteinhaus can also be visited with prams.

The walls are on fire at the Showroom Erasmuskapelle

Showroom Erasmuskapelle

Mysterious, unique and underground – that’s the Showroom Erasmuskapelle. Once you’ve managed the 23 steps from St. Mang-Platz down to the former chapel without any difficulty, a rather impressive multimedia show will tell you all about the interesting life of the present showroom. Apart from the burning walls, there’s so much more to discover in the Erasmuskapelle: old skeletons and unique findings from excavations – this is not your typical boring visit to a museum!

Kempten-Events for the whole family

In bright sunshine

When the sun is shining, get out your sunglasses and sun cream and off you go! When on holiday in Kempten this is easily done. Start with crazy golf, a huge climbing and boulder area, a small bicycle tour along the river Iller, explore all the adventure playgrounds in Kempten, or simply enjoy a cosy family picnic in the Hofgarten – the town of Kempten has something for every member of the family.
In the dripping rain

The adventures don’t stop because it’s raining on one of your family holidays. Why not try an Escape Game and finish in just 60 minutes. More action? Go and visit the Skyhouse Trampolinpark Allgäu – a whole park full of trampolines awaits you. Another highlight that brings together children, parents and grandparents, and combines action with relaxation – the 'Freizeit- und Erlebnisbad' CamboMare with its large sauna area.
